Filament dryer made from food dryer machine and filament carousel

Ich nutze schon seit einiger Zeit einen Dörrautomaten als Filament-Trockner. Dieses Modell gab's beim Discounter. Dabei habe ich die originale Haube durch eine Mikrowellen-Haube von IKEA ("PRICKIG") ersetzt, die passte in diesem Fall genau. Oben habe ich noch ein Loch für ein Thermo-/Hygrometer reingeschnitten.
Irgendwann habe ich mir gedacht, dass es praktisch wäre, das Filament direkt aus dem Dörrautomaten in den Drucker zu führen. Dabei fiel mir das Filament Carousel (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3573187) von BensHacks ein. Das hatte ich mir schon einmal in der LACK-Variante (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3588101) ausgedruckt. Leider war der Drehteller etwas zu groß, denn er blieb schon mal leicht am Rand der Haube hängen. Deshalb habe ich ein Mittel- und ein Außenteil konstruiert, das auf den DirectCoilDispender vom Filament Carousel montiert werden kann.

Dann habe ich noch aus einem Boden des Dörrautomaten das Gitter rausgeschnitten, so daß nur der Ring blieb. Den habe ich als Erhöhung genutzt, da die Mikrowellenhaube nun nicht mehr hoch genug war.

In die Mikrowellenhabe habe ich seitlich noch ein kleines Loch gebohrt, um das Filament heraus zu führen. Wenn das Teil unterhalb vom Drucker steht und das Filament nach oben herausgeführt wird, kann man auch eines der Löcher nutzen die sowieso schon in der Haube sind.

Mit einem Draht kann das Filament Carousel am Gitter des untersten Bodens des Dörrautomaten befestigt werden.

Man sollte für diesen Druck nicht unbedingt PLA nehmen, sondern mindestens PETG, besser noch ABS oder ASA, damit das Filament Carousel bei Maximaltemperatur (70°C) nicht anfängt zu schmelzen. Alle Teile können ohne Support gedruckt werden.

Die Dateien "DirectCoilDispenderHub.stl" und "FilamentCarouselBaseLACK.stl" stammen vom LACK-Filament Carousel und dem originalen Filament Carousel. Es werden also auch die entsprechenden Kugellager und Schrauben / Muttern benötigt.

I've been using an automatic food dehydrator as a filament dryer for some time. This model was available from the discounter. I replaced the original hood with a microwave hood from IKEA ("PRICKIG"), which fits exactly in this case. At the top I cut a hole for a thermometer / hygrometer.

At some point I thought it would be useful to feed the filament straight from the dehydrator into the printer. The filament Carousel (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3573187) from BensHacks came to my mind. I had already printed the LACK version (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3588101). Unfortunately, the turntable was a bit too big because it got stuck on the edge of the hood. That's why I designed a central and an outer part that can be mounted on the DirectCoilDispender of the Filament Carousel.

Then I cut the grille out of the bottom of the dehydrator so that only the ring remained. I used it as an elevation because the microwave hood was no longer high enough.

I drilled a small hole in the side of the microwave to lead the filament out. If the dehydrator is below the printer and the filament is led out upwards, you can also use one of the holes that are already in the hood.

The filament carousel can be attached to the grille on the bottom of the dehydrator with a wire.

You should not use PLA for this print, but PETG, better ABS or ASA, so that the filament carousel does not start to melt at the maximum temperature (70 ° C). All parts can be printed without support.

The files "DirectCoilDispenderHub.stl" and "FilamentCarouselBaseLACK.stl" are from the LACK filament Carousel and the original filament Carousel. The corresponding ball bearings and screws / nuts are therefore also required.
