Description
I wanted to use the butt stock extenders that came with my Avanti 853 rifle, but they are cheap looking and don't fit very well. I also wanted to be able to adjust the butt vertically to raise the stock for a better cheek weld, so I designed this adjustable butt stock extender system.
This butt extender extends the butt stock a total of 32mm (about 1.25") and the rearmost spacer is vertically adjustable in 1/2" increments. I've also included a 3mm thick (~1/8") thin spacer that can be printed in a contrasting color, such as white, if desired for looks.
Print the parts with at least 4 walls so that the holes to be threaded have enough material for strong threads. Tap the small holes with an 8-32UNC or M4 tap.
To assemble the adjustable butt stock extender:
Use the existing two butt stock screws to attach the Butt Extension (and Butt Spacer, if desired) to the rifle stock.
Use two 8-32 x 0.75" long flat head screws (or M4 x 20mm long screws if you tapped the holes M4) to attach the Adjustable Butt Plate in the desired position on the Butt Extension.
Use two 8-32 x 0.5" long oval head screws (or M4 screws of the appropriate length) to attach the existing butt plate to the Adjustable Butt Plate.
