Description

Warning: this thing can only be useful for you if you can get hold of M3x80+ or M4x80+ bolts with partial thread, which proved to be not easy (for me).

Why this thing.
Ideally the bed can move a bit vertically but not sideways. I suppose the usual bed supports will do nicely, but I wondered whether some irregularities in my prints had to do with too much horizontal movement of my bed.
The little screw in part 2, which works on the not threaded part of the long bolts, can limit this movement. It should still enable easy vertical movement, of course, but only just (it’s of course the last thing one does, after mounting everything).

To have a choice I made a part 1 for a long M3 bolt and one for a long M4 one, ditto for part 2 a M2x12+ adjustment bolt (preferable) or, if you don’t have one, M3. It seems best if one uses lock nuts for these adjustment screws.
I hope the rest speaks for itself.

Because I had trouble finding those long bolts, a link to the seller I did find: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000460256109.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.36984c4d7Udr4U
who (after consultation) delivered M3x90 bolts, which of course is ok too.
Ideally they should be countersunk, but these work.

I used my rosette mixes for M3 and M4 nuts from:
"M3 Rosettes for Spring-loaded Platform Adjustment" by L0L0,
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:625911
but any wing nut etc. will do.
I cannot find a way to find the thing from L0L0 via the "Remix Source Files", don't know why. Sorry, L0L0.

And perhaps you will find those rings for springs useful too. Mind, after a while the rings on top of the spring didn’t look pretty any more (PLA) but still do nicely. Anyway, perhaps you’ll prefer another material.
