Description
In this video I will show you how to install the direct drive extruder kit from Micro Swiss on any 3D printer that has the 2020 aluminum extrusion with v slot wheels on the X axis. Although this kit was originally intended for use with the Creality Ender 3 and CR-10 applications, it can be made to work with just about any printer.
This doesn't mean some additional work won't be necessary, however, I worked out some of the issues you might run into and hopefully my solutions work for you. I demonstrate the installation on a ANET ET5X printer and have designed a bunch of custom parts that you may or may not need for your application.

Print the main fan shroud with the 40mm extruder fan face on your print bed. No supports necessary. Print the fan duct in the upright position. No supports necessary.
The fan shroud and fan duct should work with the different varieties of printers, it is not just a solution for non-creality printers. Even if you have a Creality printer, you can use the newly designed shroud and duct work as it will replace your Creality parts.
However, If you have a Creality CR-10 or Ender 3 then you will have a smooth install experience and do not need any custom parts if you do not want to print any. The Micro Swiss kit is well equipped and well designed, all of the parts are of high quality.
Keep in mind that once you install the kit you will likely need to make some firmware changes or slicer setting changes. I go through several of those changes, but don't forget to change your retraction settings in your slicer as well! Bowden tube set ups usually run ~5+mm of retraction whereas a direct drive set up will use around 1mm.
