Description

This is a mount for the control board (Mellow Fly CDY v2), plus a 120mm driver cooling fan, for the Seckit SK-Tank. It consists of three parts: a base, a hinged fan frame, and some little caps to go on the appropriate fin(s) to latch the fan closed.

Features:

  • The base has built-in standoffs for the control board, so you can remove the existing brass standoffs or doubled nuts, whichever you are using.
  • The base supports the board at two additional points in the middle. Now you can push those connectors on there without worrying about breaking the board.
  • The base has 'fins' that serve as a contact point for the fan frame, and also let you route wires to the board at 90 degrees. These could be expanded into a full set of routing channels.
  • The fan frame mounts to the base at two hinge points using M4 screws, allowing you to open the fan just over 90 degrees to gain access to the board. There is space in each hinge for a couple of washers.
  • The fan frame has a hex grill in it to prevent wires from pushing up into the fan.
  • There is plenty of space between the board and the fan frame to keep the stock heat sinks on the drivers, with 6-7 mm of clearance.

The 120mm fan is a good bit quieter than the little 40mm fan that comes stock with the SK-Tank, and I think will cool the board better.
