Description
Inspired by the pivoting vacuum hose adapter by ksuszka I decided to extend my own set of vacuum connectors for 35mm and 40mm hoses with pivot-able/swiveling variant, because I wanted to keep my more "hose friendly" thread design. (The SCAD thread library used by ksuszka is great for screws, etc. but has sharper edges and therefore not perfect for vacuum hoses). And because of the inside wall of the hose connector thread, the connection is more stable and better sealed.
After first version I also changed the model to a low friction design for the tip insert, which allows for easy pivoting without force.(see picture with removed cap). The connection to the hose adapter is still well sealed, but the contact to the cap has been reduced.
I have provided hose connectors for 35mm and 40mm hoses and connections (35mm seems to be a standard for household vacuum cleaners (at least in Europe), whereas 40mm can more often be found for industrial equipment). I might add pivot-able hand pieces later, but flexibility on one end of the hose should already help quite a bit.
BTW: The cyclone visible on some pictures can be found here (now with new hose connectors)
P.S.: To avoid any confusion: the hose threads are counter-clockwise of course (standard for all vacuum hoses I found at home)
###Update (2021-11-25):
I have added vacuum pipe handles (handpieces) for 35mm accessories/wands (nose end) and 35mm/40mm hoses. They are designed slightly different, because I wanted the hose to be rotatable inside the handle and not around the inset as with the simple connector. To lock the hose end inside the handle i use a ring screwed into the handle end (see assembly picture)
I've uploaded all models again - let's see if model picture generation has meanwhile been fixed by Thingiverse. ..... looks like at least simple static model image are created again, but "Download All Files" button still doesn't work (404). Please download files individually instead.
Update 2021-11-28
I realized that newer Siemens wands have special locking bolts where the generic hand piece pulls too much air from the side. Therefore I added a special seal ring for Siemens wands (preferably made from TPU), which can simply be put over the 35mm handle (see additional picture)
Update 2023-04.22: Thanks to the heads-up by fumination) I just realized that some models are uploaded in a mirrored version. This was probably my mistake as I had uploaded the model in the recommended print orientation and probably mirrored some by accident instead of rotating them 180 degrees. I'm now uploading several models again. For the time being - if you come across a model with wrong thread direction, please just mirror them in the slicer. Hose threads must be counter-clockwise, other threads (end cap, lock ring) normal clockwise.
