DeWalt™ Airlock™ 35mm & 40mm vacuum Adapters (3 variants)

This is an add-on for the DeWalt™ AirLock™ compatible twist-lock dust collector fitting by Allen Derusha (svideo). The twist-lock itself is just perfectly designed - really excellent work !! So all the credits should go to the original design.

I only changed the bottom connector to support other hoses and tubes, re-using my own design for threaded and pivot-able hose connectors (e.g. see thing:5140311. The original design for 32mm vacuums isn't common in all countries. A friend of mine requested adapters for 40mm vacuums. so I designed sockets for 35mm and 40mm vacuum, both in three versions.

• Threaded adapter for 35mm and 40mm vacuum hose
• Threaded pivot-able (rotatable) adapter for 35mm and 40mm vacuum hose
• Simple socket for 35mm and 40mm vacuum tube

The pivot-able versions consist of three parts, the anchor for the hose, the main adapter/socket and a lock ring to fix the anchor inside (see here for assembly instructions).

The photos show the 40mm pivot-able adapters in yellow-black, the fixed version in red-grey. Both have counter-clockwise threads to screw in a vacuum hose. The pivot-able is a bit thicker to allow rotating the vacuum tube.

The main AirLock™ inner and outer twist ring is only re-uploaded here for convenience and can also be taken from the original DeWalt™ AirLock™ compatible twist-lock dust collector fitting.

To connect the adapter base to the twist-lock I recommend to use a vise, as it really requires some force to connect the socket to the inner twist ring. No glue is required (again thanks to Allen for this excellent design.

Update 2023-02-25: I've added versions for CenTec 32mm hose as requested by tsolleder, based on the measurements and hose mock provided by him. (2023-03-03: tsolleder confirmed that Cen-Tec hose fits well, so I can remove the "work-in-progress" state now)
