Here are my replacement grip scales for the nerf falconfire!
What do they improve?
- More finger space
- More comfortable distance from the back of the grip to the trigger
- Colour customisation
- Knurled pattern at the back for more grip
- One continuous surface to hold onto
- No more wobble
Print them standing up with the bottom of the grip on the print bed, at low layer height. The supports are modelled in (each scale acts as support for the overhangs on the other), just snap them apart once printed (gently!). Side cutters are useful for trimming down some of the sacrificial layers to be flush. The red circles and arrows indicate areas to watch out for supports to remove. Make sure your bed adhesion is good as these are tall thin parts.
The sides are plain so that you can add whatever pattern/logo you would like, using the STEP file.
To install them you will need to trim a tiny piece off each side of the grey grip piece, making the area marked green in the photo flush with the rest of the grip. I used a nice sturdy penknife. The screws are just normal nerf self tapping ones, with the 4mm head and around 8mm long.
Please don't try to sell these without contacting me first, either here, or more quickly on instagram @herbmeister_nerf . In anticipation of people thinking I'm undermining other commercial grip scales, that is absolutely not my intention. I started designing these before anyone else had publicly shown any other printed grip scales, and it was always my intention to release them publicly, so I'm not going to change my course of action!
