Description
Just got a UI24r and wanted to put a cooling fan on it but didn't want to have to open it up to put a fan in it.
This uses 3/8" by 1/10" magnets, or 9.6mm by 2.5mm.
I just happened to have them on hand.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to figure it out, but I've recently discovered 'scaling' Most of what I print it doesn't matter if the size isn't quite the same when printed as when designed, but it pretty much matters on this. Instead of messing around with the size when designing, I designed it for the exact size things should be and then scale it up when slicing.
For example, I printed this in PLA and for the pla I'm using and my printer, I needed to scale the stl up by 101.5 percent in cura for the sizes to come out right.
I also used cura to put a pause in at the right level so that It pauses the print so I can insert the magnets and then resume the print.
Added another version of the adapter for 10mmx3mm magnets, which seem easier to find.
