Eddie Munsons Guitar from Stranger Things!!!
Now I have not watched stranger things personally, but my sister wanted to cosplay as Eddie for an upcoming Con we're going to, so I cannot speak about its significance or history.
All I know is that his guitar is unique and had a specific shape in the show.
Initially i was going to make the guitar out of EVA foam but i had other projects to work on so i decided to print it while i was doing other things.
I found the original file on the Cults3D website, designed by "ACB2ART".
All I did was some rough math and split the file into 11 pieces that each fit in my delta style printer.
The original file was 205mm tall or 8 inches. I scaled it up so 446% so when its fully assembled the guitar is roughly 36 inches tall and 12' wide at the widest point.
I taped a ruler to the end of a yardstick to get an idea of the size.
I also included several 4mm holes to each piece so that they lined up easier when gluing together. Just trim some 1/8" steel or aluminum rods when assembling.
I have not finished printing it at the time of uploading these files, but everything is going smoothly while printing so far.
I will post pics of all the parts and assembly and painted when I'm finished.
The tallest Pieces are:
Piece 3 - 222mm
Piece 5 - 218mm
Piece 11 - 159mm
All of the other pieces are below 145mm so they should print fine in other printers. I can adjust the files for the taller ones if enough people request it.
I am printing all of the parts in the orientation that the files are in. I did not use supports for pieces 1,5,6,10 and 11. I did not see a need and they're printing smoothly.
***Be careful to not add any supports to files where holes do not go all the way through. I used Prusa Slicer an turned off supports in these areas to avoid clogging the support rod holes with filament.
UPDATE: 12/19/22
So far I have fully printed all of the pieces to the guitar. The only piece that i see an issue with is piece #2. The Hole for the Metal rod did not print correct for a portion of it. No big deal for me, i intend to just fill it with super glue then sand it flush. I can fix the file later on if there is enough demand for it.
