Description
This is a set of mouthpieces for sticking on schedule 40 PVC pipe to make recorders, including soprano/sopranino (1/2" sch 40), alto (3/4" sch 40), tenor (1" sch 40), bass(basset) (1.5" sch 40); great/contra bass (2"). As a bonus there is also an end-blown shakuhachi mouthpiece (following Ken LaCosse youtube video) and a garklein mouthpiece (for use with approx 1/2 bamboo or with 1/2 CPVC tubing - the thinner stuff).
The mouthpieces are styled to go with a "Virdung" type renaissance recorder with an approx cylindrical bore (see [https://adrianbrown.org/renaissance-recorders/]), but you have the option to use either renaissance or baroque fingering. I will probably use baroque so the kids only have to learn one set of fingerings. Tenor has options to have a beak or to be like the direct blown bass (basset). The lowest note on the great bass with a stock 5' 2" sch 40 PVC pipe is 100 Hz before tuning and drilling the finger holes...
