This is a working model of a V6 engine.
Video: https://youtu.be/xf3Yl7T8agw
Specs:
- Version: 11
- Type: V6 (60°)
- Displacement: 348 ccm (58 ccm each)
- Min. pressure: 2 bar (29 psi)
- Max. tested pressure: 7 bar (102 psi)
- Max. speed: ~1000 rpm
Warning:
- This project does not contain instructions. I wouldn't recommend printing it. Use it as inspiration to design your own model.
Note:
- The model in the video has the old camshaft. The new camshaft has improved performance by around 60%.
- I've used regular PVC pipes as cylinder sleeves to reduce friction and improve the seal of the piston rings (like seen in the previous model).
- The timing belt is not printed. Check out details below.
- It took me nearly 200 hours to print all the parts using an Anycubic i3 Mega S. Keep that in mind.
- Additional parts as bearings, belts and screws are expensive (~100$).
- Sanding down the pistons will take some time.
- There will be no more work/updates on this model.
- You'll need a huge compressor to run this thing.
