If you're like me and you brought your truck into a local dealership, they held your truck hostage for a month, and the Tonneau cover came back broken (or other reasons, I suppose), you're looking for a fix for putting the hinge back on the plastic shell. I searched and since fixes ranged from "run a bolt through the top" to "use some epoxy," I decided to design my own.

When printing these, just remember the pieces will be very small, so slow (50 mm/sec) and lowest working temperature is the key. Use 100% infill and make sure you use "outside" temperature plastic (ABS, PET-G, Nylon, etc. Don't use PLA for this one!). Supports are not needed but you should have something to help with adhesion. Print the inserts length-wise (flat side down) and the the separator with the flat side of the circle down on the platform.

It's a pretty simple design. Print two of the rivet insert and one of the rivet separator for each hole. Slide the separator into the metal bracket facing in toward the cover. Then slide 2 inserts into the same hole on the other side. Then get a screw started (between 3 - 4mm diameter) and this will press the inserts against the wall of the hole of the bracket. Clear any remaining rivet out of the holes on the plastic shell. Push the other end of the inserts (the wedge side) into the hole of the plastic shell (the holes left by the broken rivets). Once the inserts are in the Tonneau cover, finish tightening the screws and you should be in good shape!

Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas for improving the design or other suggestions. Thanks!
