Volantex Propeller + Blade Clip - BF-109 Mustang P51D Spitfire

Modified original design to give it a bit more pitch. Now is almost exact pitch as the original blade. I improved the cone as well.

If you are an owner of the famous and great planes Volantex brand or any other with propeller saver feature then you are lucky because you are not going to buy blades never again. I found the original propellers quite breakable, mostly near the shaft hole and spare parts are not cheap, why don't you test this one?

I am impressed how well it goes, I think it goes even better than originals, no vibrations, plenty of thrust...everything you need to fly this little great bird.

How to, and some advice

I have tested different layer height and I found it 0.1mm is the best. It does not take too long to print so it worth the pain waiting.
You need support and depending on your printer, some adjustments and speed.
I set 0.2mm separation between the part and support otherwise for me was not going to be so easy to remove, it took me a while.
After removing the support with care, just sand it gently to remove any bit and imperfection you find but also with a bit of strentgh to make sure the PLA bind together as you heat up a little with the sand paper.
Once you finished sanding is time to balance. Have a look to the pictures, just add a small metal shaft or whatever you find that fits in the middle hole and try to balance the propeller as shown, just adding a bit of tape to counterweight.

Last but not least, the easiest part: insert the propeller adapter (white part) into the hole and hold it with the black screw you removed from the old blade.

Added the Blade Clip

Quite complicated design as the part is small and must fit perfect on the blade holder, as well as work whenever the propeller touches something to release itself.
Print with the narrow part down and add some support, there is almost no need to sand or scrap but may be you need to make the hole a bit wider with a nail or something in order to fit well in the shaft.

Please note the inside of the hole has a flat part that fits on the shaft, be careful when you try to insert the blade clip, press gently and if you see it is hard to insert, try to make the hole a big wider with care.
If you see the propeller adapter (white part) fits hard, this is just at first. Just insert and remove it several times and it will fit much better.

Settings I used:
100% infill
0.1mm layer
0.4mm nozzle
20mm/s printing speed

12 minutes printing
