UPDATE!!!!!

I am pleased to announce that I have finished work on the new exact replica Early Model AC Vent Assembly. This project will still be left up for historical purposes and to reference, but please do not print this version out if you are expecting accuracy. Thank you guys for the support! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6199779 This is a model of the early model 1960-1964 Chevrolet Corvair Air conditioning under dash vents. IMPORTANT NOTE!!! Before you read further and start printing, I want to make it very clear that I designed this model based only on pictures that I found online, and that THE DIMENSIONS ARE NOT 100% ACCURATE. Additionally, I found no pictures of what the rear of this unit is supposed to look like so I just had to guess. Thank you for reading! With that said, this assembly replicates the optional air conditioner vents that were offered from 1961-1964. This was an incredibly rare option and not many original units were produced. Thus, I made this so that if you need the vent assembly you can just print one out. I designed the knobs to resemble the 1960 knobs because that's what I have. If you're interested in another style of knob please leave a comment. These are just the vents, I am not sure how they would hook up to the evaporator but I was just going to pipe the air from the stock fan into the rear of the unit. The stock fan points at the passenger's feet and does absolutely nothing. With this at least some air will hit your face (hopefully). Maybe I'll Incorporate a peltier cooler (A really neat little semiconductor that produces cold from electricity with no refrigerant) into this design in a future update so that those without the whole AC system can enjoy some cold air. In addition to the STL files, I have included a zip folder with all of the Solidworks files used in this design. If you use these to modify or improve upon anything, please give me some credit :) Also note that the last photograph of the radio installed in the car IS NOT MINE. I have included it so that you can see what the unit is supposed to look like. That is the original AC vent assembly. PRINTING AND ASSEMBLY To print, you will need a fairly large print bed if you don't want to chop the pieces up. You will probably need at least a 35x35cm print bed for the largest piece. Print using supports and fine detail, no raft, 20% infill. All the pieces glue or plastic weld together, sorry I didn't include a clever plastic clip system on this design. To attach the vents to the corvair radio housing, will need to position the vents the way you want them, then mark the two holes under the housing onto the vents. Finally, drill the holes into the vents and attach using screws. Ill probably include these holes in a future update.
