after the knob slipped over a hot plate, it was no longer usable. with the adappter, the contact surface is grinded absolutely straight and the knob works perfectly again.

remove the rubber ring before inserting the knob into the grinding adapter!
place a fine sandpaper on a flat surface and move the grinding device over the sandpaper in circular motions. if necessary, readjust the screw and repeat the process.
be careful, only remove a small amount of material.
