These STL files add the ability to have multi-level or stacked track supports for 2 lane or 4 lane HO slot car layouts. With these you can:
- Run one, two, three, four or more tracks in over/under configurations, where each
track can be set up at a desired height.
- Elevate track sections to a wide range of height options, could be inches or feet.
- Use catenary beams under track sections to suspend track sections using
wires/lines to create a suspension bridge configuration.
- Hang track sections from the ceiling.
There are several types of parts that firmly snap together (i.e. no glue needed) to make the desired configuration:
- Bases than can be anchored to a surface and connect to a beam, where file names
end with bXXX.stl and the XXX identifies a relative height
- Support pillars to connect beams together, where file names end with sXXX.stl and
the XXX identifies a relative height
- Multi-level beams that support track sections, where file names end with ml.stl (2 lane)
or ml4.stl (4 lane).
- Top beams that support track sections, where file names end with top.stl (2 lane)
or top4.stl (4 lane)
- Catenary beams that support tracks using lines/wires when configured as a
suspension bridge, where file names end with cat.stl (2 lane) or cat4.stl (4 lane)
- Two lane bank supports where file names end with bankAA.stl, where AA = 10, 15,
20 or 30 to identify the bank angle.
- Four lane bank supports where file names end with bank4-AA.stl, where AA = 5, 10, 15,
20, 25 or 30 to identify the bank angle. The parts here are 'snap' compatible with my other slot car track supports that are located in other design folders, such as https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5743731. This folder has the STL files for the cross beams, support pillars in various heights and base footing pillars of various heights.
Recent enhancement (4/28/24) was to add more lateral support for support pillars and bases. This maintains compatibility with past versions. It is also better from a visual perspective.
Added two lane banks for 10, 15, 20 and 30 degrees.
Added four lane banks January 2026 for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 degrees.
The OpenSCAD file is provided. Enhancements and comment cleanups are seen in the v6 file. This would be daily used to create STL files for bases and support pillars of varying heights by adjusting the 'pillar' parameter in the file.
