Description
The first adapter I developed to be able to use a Hercules bassoon stand for my lightweight Eb bass clarinet was so popular that I offered fellow bass clarinet players to create another one for the widely distributed K&M Bassoon Stand 150/1 or 15010 by König & Meyer.
Et voila - here it is! Just print and attach this adapter to your K&M stand and it can hold your Eb bass clarinet at peg level. So no more worries about your Eb bass clarinet falling over and no more adjusting the peg all the time. Just focus on playing your instrument and having fun! đ
The top of the adapter has a flat surface. If you print it upside down, you do not need any supports.
Use TPU 95A and at least 50% infill. This makes it flexible so it does not break during transport but it will still be sturdy enough to hold your bass clarinet peg effortless.
To install the adapter on the K&M stand you have to pull off the rubber foot and unscrew the rubberised cup that usually holds the instrument. After having removed both, you can now push the new adapter onto the leg of the stand.
It is a tight fit to make sure it stays in place when in use. If you have trouble fitting it over the metal leg, use a hair dryer to warm up the TPU just a little bit. This might also help with removing and reattaching the rubber foot. If you like to use the original cup as well, do not forget to screw it on again.
Happy printing and making music! đ
