Hollow Mask Illusion

This model prints in two parts and will need support for the main block part on the convex face side (the chin and nose).

The base has two cylinder shapes to guide alignment. You should glue the two pieces together. See photos for which way to align the pieces.

I printed this in a few materials. One of the materials was a semi-translucent white PLA. This type of filament did not work well for the illusion. I recommend using a matte filament or solid white or gray regular PLA. I would discourage using dark filament of any kind.

The Hollow Mask Illusion (aka Hollow Face Illusion) is an optical illusion where a concave face appears as convex. Lighting conditions must be met for this illusion to appear. The convex (hollow) face must be illuminated with direct facing light (see illustration photo).
