Bird feeder for Imac cage

Imac bird cage feeders easily break and this replaces the originals.

Imac cages have openings 45mm horizontal times 52mm vertical. The .scad files are included if you wish to modify. Sorry; the design isn't parametric.

There are two feeders; one small - which can hold enough food for a budgie for one day - and a large one, which will hold enough for 2-3.

The holes in the back of the feeder are for letting in light and give the birds situational awareness - both to make feeding easier. Since I love gothic architecture I made a large feeeder version with AJLoCascio's gothic window ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4387834) and some gothic rosettas I made myself.

Recent improvements:
The large feeders now (2024-11) have:

• Enlarged lip to reduce spillage
• Hollow perch to save resin
• Reduced lock ball size
• A slot to make independent lock ball movement possible
  Changes 2025-03:
• increased perch fastening strength - we had a breakage after 6 months use!
• Increased flexibility of the lock ball fastening
• Decreased lock ball size

These two last because my resin still wasn't flexible enough without them. The lock balls are actually unnecessary - but getting a lock "click" feels satisfactory :-)
