Description
This was my design for 3D printed Japanese style pricking irons in 5mm spacing. My goal was to design a model that could actually punch through leather but due to filament strength limitations it was only suitable for marking in hole centers.
Using PLA and PETG, this design can be used to gently tap in hole centers that can be pierced with an awl for subsequent stitching. Using Nylon or stronger filaments, along with some post-processing to smooth and sharpen the prongs, it may allow for penetration of leather.
To adjust the hole spacing, use the following scale factors:
3mm - 60%
3.38mm - 67.6%
3.85mm - 77%
4mm - 80%
