Description
The base plate serves as a versatile connector, enabling you to attach custom foot designs to your be quiet! Light Base 600 or Light Base 900.
As an example, the Cat Paw design showcases how creativity and functionality can come together to personalize your case while maintaining stability and compatibility. Follow the printing and assembly guidelines to bring this charming design to life!
➡️ Designing the Foot Attachment:
Include a recess of 30x40x3mm in your design for the base plate.
This dimension allows the base plate to be securely pressed into the recess by hand.
For additional security, the base plate features M3 holes that can be used to screw it into place.
Two versions of the Base Plate are available to accommodate slight differences between the Light Base 600 and 900 series:
▪️Parallel hole arrangement: For Light Base 600.
▪️Diagonal hole arrangement: For Light Base 900.
❗For all those taking part in the contest:
You only need to submit a design and not the base plate.
➡️ Material Selection for the Locking Mechanism:
Material for the Design Object:
▪️The rest of the design (the aesthetic or functional component) can be printed using PLA or PETG.
▪️Ensure a minimum infill of 20% for structural integrity, as these feet may need to support loads of 20-30 kg, depending on the system.
Material for the Base Plate:
▪️The locking mechanism of the Light Base 600 feet is subjected to significant mechanical stress.
▪️PLA is not suitable due to its brittleness, and PETG also lacks the necessary durability.
▪️We recommend using ABS or carbon-fiber-reinforced filament for the locking mechanism to ensure sufficient strength and longevity.
🔄Orientation:
When assembling, ensure the front of the base plate aligns correctly.
The “T” of the locking mechanism should face you when correctly oriented.
ℹ️ Tips for Printing
For strong and precise prints, ensure the 30x40x3 mm recess is clean and precise to allow seamless integration.
Use quality screws for the M3 holes if additional fixation is required.
