Description
This is a frame + drawings store. I made this for my daughter so that she could put her drawings on the refrigerator and change them at will.
The space for the sheets is 212x299mm, which is 2 mm larger than the A4 size.
Why is the frame made of 4 parts: my printer only includes half of the A4 sheet, but the frame is wider and gets too close to the borders of the print area. I don't want to risk quality for the sake of assembling from halves, it's easier for me to assemble from 4 parts.
The height of the frame and the lock can be easily changed directly in the slicer. According to the project, the lock is 0.7 of the height of the frame, as intended.
It should be noted that such a frame can also be hung on the wall. Two additional nails at the back and a string through them. And the pocket can be made in different ways (overlap the frame along or across).
And instead of a PET sheet, you can use thin acrylic. 1.5-2mm will be enough. Also, if you want, you can not put the lid on top, just attach it to the nails. Especially with acrylic, it will work well, it will not deform like a thin PET.
In general, there is a lot of space for imagination.
Cover nailed - you need to mirror print a couple of models. Reflect it in the slicer.
You must have a well calibrated printer including correct flow setting for the filament which you suppose to use. There are different tolerances this project, see t.xx in file names.
If you're not sure or didn't understand what I'm talking about - don't waste the time to make this thing. Or don't blame me after, that your printed parts don't fit together.
Also in some cases you'll need to use the tools (needle files for corners, drill bits for holes and etc.) to reach the best result from the printed model. Especially if use don't use Linear Advance or similar algorithm. You shouldn't expect that the model will be fine immediately from the printer. At least not always :)
The source is here.
To get an access to the thing source you'll need an account in OnShape. It can be free, so made it for yourself.
Go to the document by the specified link. There should be a few configurable values in the upper-left corner. Change what you need. Wait while rendering finished then export parts from this tab (see in the bottom-left corner). They already oriented in the best printing position.
