Description

Have also a look at our other designs. https://www.thingiverse.com/kledolin/designs

Here is the father son project "Jabaketa 1 Pipistrel" version 4, the very fast, lightweight and capable 24mm rocket 440mm long for a 18mm motor at around 48g without motor, partly printed in vase mode, which can reach around 340m with a C6-7 rocket motor; a B4-4 motor is at least very great fun at a safe height of about 160m. The rocket is tested by multiple flights.

The base and nose cone are printed in standard mode and the module i.e. tube is printed in 0,6mm vase mode. We have been using PLA lightweight. On the base you will get some stringing with PLA LW but it doesn't matter hence nearly everything is inside the base.
A Z-axis of 250mm is needed. If someone would need shorter tubes than 250mm, comment. We have printed the tube as 300mm so I have scalled the tube down to 250mm and the base up to 150mm.
The both templates can be printed in TPU, secured to the rocket via tape and then sprayed over with paint.
An OpenRocket file is attached with all the simulation and so on (be aware that the OpenRocket file contains the 300mm tube and 100mm base), link to the great free software: https://openrocket.info/

Glue all parts including baffle of your choice with epoxy. The positions of the parts can be taken of the OpenRocket file.
The cords are attached with small eye bolts.
For people which won't download the software I have attached a PDF file; all masses are real measured masses. The best would be to attach the parachute and baffle as high as possible to get a stable rocket.

Parachute templates are attached and can be just printed out for a cutting template. Paper reinforcement ring are glued on the parachute to enhance the attachment of the cords.

Our rocket stand can be downloaded here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6984001

We have also constructed a start box for model rockets: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6887853

Soon other rockets are going to follow. Please comment if you are going to build the project.

It is equipped with our baffle (parachte protection) which can be best printed in ABS or PLA HT (PLA should also be possible, hence it is far away from the motor mount, in the upper module.): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6984065/files

The rocket uses an aluminium rocket mount to distribute the heat evenly, a hole has to be drilled for the ejection gases to enter the rocket (On the photo the bushing hasn't been glued to the end hence super glue instead of epoxy glue has been used :( ): https://www.raketenmodellbau-klima.de/Raketenmodellbau/Zubehoer/Ersatz-Bauteile/Motorrohre-halter/Aluhuelse-fuer-18-mm-Motoren.htm?shop=raketenklima&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=8060&t=23&c=85&p=85

It uses a 35cm parachute which can be fabricated (templates included) or bought: https://www.raketenmodellbau-klima.de/Raketenmodellbau/Zubehoer/Ersatz-Bauteile/Fallschirme-Flatterbaender/Fallschirm.htm?shop=raketenklima&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=7010&t=23&c=88&p=88

You'll need also a shock cord and elastic cord:

We have been flying with these motors, B4-4 and C6-5(or 7):
