I had to remove only the frame that the glass mounted in to so I could repair some rust on it.
These covers need to be removed to access the 4 torx screws that secure the glass frame.
The covers and clips broke when I tried to remove.
I designed the new covers with clips that are separate so you can print on their side for stronger layer orientation and to make removing the covers easier in the future.
The clips are attached with M3x8 countersunk screws.
You can install with the clips attached and only need to unscrew to remove the covers.
Rotate the covers 45 degrees to fit on the printer.
For anyone working on their 4Runner sunroof;
The sunroof on this 4Runner works fine, the only problem was some rust on the GLASS FRAME the was flaking off and clogging the drains.
Was super easy to remove the GLASS frame.
Raised the sunroof, removed these covers and the 4 torx screws.
The rubber molding just pulls our VERY SLOWLY to allow the butyl rubber to release.
BE CAREFUL as the rubber molding is no longer available.
I noticed there is NO way for any water that gets under the rubber molding to drain from the GLASS FRAME and that lead to the rust.
I drilled two 3mm holes on the front corners ( the lowest point just above the riveted plastic guide tabs / ears.
Any water that builds up can drain safely into the roof pan and into the normal drains.
