Description

Remixed the upper part of the head from here to include a raised/embossed face for easier precise painting, mimicking the look of the classic minifigure face:

I also created variants that remove the need to print in two pieces. For these variants, I recommend NOT including supports in the middle, but you DO want supports around the edges that overhang. To help with this, you can use the support blocker feature built into your slicer, or print the variant that has a support blocker built into the model, and then cut out that section with a utility knife after printing.

This model is built to match how I print it, which is at 50% of the original. Scale it back up if you need to match the other pieces from the source. The depth of the emboss is designed to be less than one line of my 0.4 mm nozzle. This ensures the bottom/lowest layer of the emboss is supported with no sagging. You may need to take precautions against this when scaling back up.

Finally, I found when painting I need to apply a clear base first to prevent visible seeping/bleeding along the layer lines. Elmer's school glue worked well enough for me, but clear spray paint and other materials can be good, too.
