This coupling for ICTA (Insulating Cintrable Transversally Annulated) conduits has been designed for personal and experimental use, aiming to offer a mechanical connection solution.

FIRE SAFETY CONCERN AND NON-COMPLIANCE WITH ELECTRICAL STANDARDS:

Material: This model is intended to be 3D printed using PLA (Polylactic Acid). PLA is a combustible and non-self-extinguishing material. It can burn if exposed to a heat source or flame.
Non-Compliance with Standards: ICTA conduits are self-extinguishing and flame-retardant, as required by electrical installation standards. The use of this PLA coupling, even if it ensures a mechanical joint, compromises the installation's compliance with fire safety standards. It creates a weak point in the fire protection of the cable's pathway and could potentially propagate a fire initiated by an external source or an internal fault if the cable were to carry sufficient power.
Usage: Although the author has used this coupling for a very low-voltage cable (coaxial antenna cable) where the risk of fire is almost zero, this coupling must NOT be used for mains voltage electrical cables (230V, 400V) or any other cable capable of generating heat or posing a fire risk.

PROBLÈME DE SÉCURITÉ INCENDIE ET DE CONFORMITÉ AUX NORMES ÉLECTRIQUES :

Matériau : Ce modèle est destiné à être imprimé en PLA (Acide Polylactique). Le PLA est un matériau combustible et non auto-extinguible. Il peut brûler s'il est exposé à une source de chaleur ou une flamme.
Non-conformité aux normes : Les gaines ICTA sont des conduits auto-extinguibles et non propagateurs de flamme, exigés par les normes d'installation électrique (telles que la NF C 15-100 en France). L'utilisation de ce manchon en PLA, même s'il assure une jonction mécanique, compromet la conformité de l'installation aux normes de sécurité incendie. Il crée un point faible dans la protection anti-feu du cheminement du câble et pourrait potentiellement propager un incendie initié par une source externe ou un défaut interne si le câble transportait une puissance suffisante.
Usage : Bien que l'auteur ait utilisé ce manchon pour un câble de très basse tension (câble coaxial d'antenne) dont le risque d'incendie est quasi nul, ce manchon ne doit EN AUCUN CAS être utilisé pour des câbles électriques sous tension secteur (230V, 400V) ou tout autre câble susceptible de générer de la chaleur ou un risque d'incendie.
