Description
I only made the top part to make it work with T8 Grow Lights. I think the original was made for a T5 but I'm not sure. The PVC makes it so it needs less 3d printed parts and makes it super stable. Plus ¾ PVC is super cheap and can be bought anywhere.
I've included the Tripod piece on here as well just incase there ever is an issue with the original authors link.
The top piece slides on to the PVC and then your light just goes into it. I'd recommend making the tripod pieces at the bottom (3 Pieces of PVC), your height adjustment to make it more stable. Make your single piece of PVC probably no more than 2ft just for more stability.
Print Settings I used:
3 Walls / Perimeters
Infill 15% Gyroid
5 Top & Bottom Layers
PETG
Flashforge Orca Slicer: Printed on 5m, Flashforge
For the Tripod Piece, print on the part where it has the single end. Do “paint on supports” and just paint the piece that has an overhang. I did a bucket fill tool and had to get it in 2 spots, super easy. I used organic supports, it will come out easy and doesn't need to be sanded after.
For the top piece that actually holds the light, flip it 180 and print so there is not an overhang. It wont need a supports, see my pics for example if needed. It is oriented this way due to how I designed it in Fusion360.
*** Note that these are a tight fit on to the PVC. If your printer has elephant foot or creates any bugers on the pieces, they will need to be sanded in those areas. You will want to use a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer to get the pvc into the pieces. *****
From original Creator:
Summary
This quick and dirty design uses 3/4-inch PVC to create a stable tripod of any height and includes an adapter for a Barrina led grow light to hold it vertically.
The adapter is hollow so that the power plug can come in from the bottom, which is handy if you intend to daisy chain a few together.
Recommend a couple extra walls in the print settings, and you may have to do a bit of sanding on the PVC.
