Description

Got a request from @protogamer to design some glasses with a different holding mechanism resembling what is found on Ombraz Glasses. They're a bit more stable than those with arms and are better for more active applications.

Still based on the large November glasses frames from EyeBuyDirect
You can get the glasses here with your prescription and then pop out the lenses: https://www.eyebuydirect.com/eyeglasses/frames/november-matte-black-l-19313
(The original frames themselves are only $9)

Designed for 95 Paracord Type 1

I printed the frames at the same angle and layer height (.1mm) as in the original design (See pictures), the slides were printed on their ends, and the clips were printed with the inside flat on the buildplate and the outside on its end so it resembles a C. (Any resolution should work)

For assembly, I cut two lengths of cord that wrap about 2/3 of the way from the frames, around my head, and to the other side. Then, after using a lighter to scorch the ends (so they don't split), I used a needle to get some thread through just the end of the cord so I could pull it through the rather tight-fitting holes. On the slides, I put a tiny dab of superglue to hold the cord ends in place, and then the clips are pretty straightforward. If you can't get the cord to fit, try pulling it taught to get it into the slot and then pushing the C onto it. I ended up using my teeth to get it fully clamped down (little edges wrapped around the inner piece). Definitely better methods for this, but it works.

1 x Paracord glasses
2 x Clip Inside
2 x Clip Outside
2 x Slider
