Description

A remix of AmorousPolymers' sad doggo infinite over-the-door hat rack hanger. Some misc features were modified, and the connections were remade to use long M2 machine screws.

Printing

Print one top part, and however many extra joint parts needed. No rotation needed, they should already be oriented correctly, so the correct side is lying on the bed. Supports are required - I recommend painting organic supports only where the overhangs are.

Parts

M2x30mm machine screws are used to connect the modular parts. For however many hooks you want to connect, you will need N-1 screws; preferably socket heads with hex drives.

Tools

  • Driver for the M2 screws
  • Power drill with a thin drill bit
  • Small strips of double-sided tape are optional - preferably 3M Command Strips.

Assembly

See video for assembly demo.

  • Break off all supports.
  • Clear bores of any debris. Use the drill if needed to push debris out. Make sure you do not expand bores, only clear them out.
  • Connect parts into a chain, insert screws into bores, and thread them in.
    • The single top part should start the chain.
    • Stop threading when the screws don't go in any further. There may not be any resistance when the screws are all the way in - so visual observation is needed.
    • It is recommended to hand-drive the threads. Power tools that are too powerful may over-strip the plastic or snap the long M2 screws if there's too much resistance.
  • Hang the assembly over the door.
  • Use double-sided tape to attach the assembly to the wall. If this isn't done, the chain may bow if the load is bottom-heavy.
  • Hang caps

Changes

  • The joint and top parts, including their hooks, were modified to be more similar to each other.
  • Removed connection pegs and replaced with bores to fit M2 screws.
