- Flight tested on 9KM DWLIFE Black Braided Kevlar Cord (1.3mm, 300 lb) but others may work
- Two 1010 Rail Buttons
- 24" parachute
Assembly:
- 3D print the "LOC2.14 tube cutter guide"
- Use this to cut a LOC 2.14 tube to 22 inches
- 3D print the "MA3 Tube Cutting Template"
- Use this to mark and cut out the fin slots on the body tube
- Can also be used to mark where to drill small holes for the attachment screws
- Tie Recovery Harness to hole in Fin Can
- Thread Recovery Harness thru Body Tube
- Slide Body Tube onto top of Fin Can
- Align the fin slots with the fins
- Attach body tube with the screws
- Designed for two rows of nine screws but other configurations may also work
- Tie loose end of Recovery Harness to Nose Cone BASE
- Nose cone TOP twists onto the BASE
- Tie parachute to Recovery Harness near top of Nose Cone
- Attach two 1010 rail buttons
NOTE: Individual printers and filament have different tolerances
- Fit check items before assembly. Options to adjust if necessary:
- Add tape to increase diameter
- Remove material by sanding
- If your printer has a scaling feature, use it to adjust the part size
- Change the dimensions in the FreeCAD file available with the download
IMPORTANT POST FLIGHT NOTES:
- 3D printed material shrinks after cooling down from heat of motor
- I have only flow an ABS version with Estes motor and had no problems removing the motor. Not sure how many flights a PLA version will last before the motor tube shrinks.
