Description
Wanted a bigger lens hood for starry landscapes and night timelapses: street lights and passing cars can produce lens flares even outside the lens FoV, and the stock lens hood is too small.
This 3:2 lens hood is slightly out of view on all sides when set to the 18mm focal length on my Sony A6400. I haven't tested it on any other camera, but I expect it would stay out of view on all crop sensor versions of this lens and their corresponding cameras.
Designed to print without supports with the mounting interface on the build plate, so that the locking mechanism fits correctly.
Had a 0.6mm nozzle in mind, but 0.4 should work just as fine. I used a small raft to avoid elephant foot deformation on the first layer, and my PLA prints fit perfectly without any post processing.
A matte black material (or added spray paint) is preferred to reduce reflections; the photos display PETG CF which works great for this purpose.
