Description

This is a derivative of my improved MSX cartridge case that was adapted to fit the BeerIDE 202 controller board by CARO (https://caro.su). But unlike the normal cartridge case, this one consists of 3 different parts. The upper front part is interchangeable and can be modded for a different IDE connector if necessary. The original BeerIDE MSX cartridge was designed by the Russian vintage computer enthusiast Egor Voznessenski (a.k.a. Solid), who is, sadly, no longer with us. RIP, buddy...

This new cartridge case requires basic screws that could be bought in China for less that 2$ for a 50 pieces: M2 x 12mm. For example here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002395120161.html

The case halves have 1mm groove between them - this is needed to open them easily by gently pulling the case halves apart. The circuit board is no longer secured inside the case by screws - there are special ledges around the screw holes that the board sits on. These ledges are inserted into the holes of second half of the case when 2 halves are joined together. This allows the board to be secured inside the cartridge case even without the screws. However, using screws are still highly recommended.

IMPORTANT! All chips (ROM, 8255, logic) must be soldered without sockets onto the circuit board! Otherwise the board will not fit into the case! The configuration jumper selection must use the angled 3-pin header.

If you want to make a small donation in appreciation of my humble efforts, please use the "Tip designer" button on this page: https://www.thingiverse.com/Wierzbowsky/designs
