The Sustainable Powerbank – Turning 2026’s E-Waste Crisis into Energy Access
In 2026, the world is drowning in batteries.
Every year, hundreds of millions of lithium-ion cells from laptops, EV packs, scooters, power tools, and consumer electronics are discarded—many of them still usable. These batteries end up leaching toxic metals into soil and water, fueling an environmental crisis and wasting one of the most valuable resources of our time: stored energy.
At the same time, over a billion people still lack reliable access to electricity—including refugees, disaster-affected communities, and regions destabilized by conflict and climate change.
We’re solving both problems at once.
The GEEK MEDIA & PFIUkraine.org Solution:
-A modular, 3D-printed powerbank system built from recovered, tested, and re-certified battery cells that would otherwise become waste.
-Enclosures are locally 3D-printed from recycled plastics
-Battery cells are harvested from e-waste streams, tested, balanced, and reused
-Electronics are open-source, repairable, and swappable
-The design scales from phone chargers to larger energy hubs
-This is not just a powerbank—it’s a circular energy platform.
Environmental impact:

Lowers CO₂ footprint per watt-hour by orders of magnitude
Humanitarian impact:
