Description
Light-tight canister for 120mm (medium format) film spools
This container screws closed to help prevent light leaks on medium format film spools, as after shooting on them, they can unravel a little too easily for my liking. I designed this container to keep the film safe from light after taking photos. You can use it for 35mm as well if you'd like, though typically those canisters are safe from light. 120 film using tape to keep the spool closed all the way. However, the tape doesn't always hold up the best and can come undone enough to allow for light leaks on the edges.
Works for 35mm canisters and 620 spools too
(620 film is literally 120 film wrapped on a slightly thinner spool)
Untested for 220mm film wraps (theoretically should fit, though unsure. If you find out they fit, feel free to let me know)
Printing:
This was designed for and printed using Hatchbox Black PLA filament
Set the infill for 30% for best results
Any thinner and the walls will be too thin, possibly allowing a small bit of light through
Any thicker and there’s a risk of there being no support on the inside of the walls (no gaps, leaving possible cracking easier)
Sliced in EufyMake Studio
Printed on the AnkerMake M5
Uses 30 Grams of filament
(The average spool contains 1000 grams (1kg) of filament)
