Description

DIY Disc Label Alignment Tool

A simple alignment tool designed for applying full-face small-hole disc labels
(not compatible with large-hole CD-style labels).

This is essentially a DIY recreation of the official Avery alignment tool for people who don’t want to spend ~$20 on the original.

Required Hardware

  • 0.8 × 8 × 20mm spring
  • 10 coils

Similar springs may also work:

  • 15mm length
  • 8 coil variants

How To Use

  1. Peel the label from the Avery sheet
  2. Place it adhesive-side up into the tool
  3. Align the tabs with the matching gaps
  4. Place the disc reading-side up onto the label
  5. Add a spare plastic protection disc to avoid scratches
  6. Install the pusher and press down evenly
  7. While pressing, smooth out the edges of the label

Notes

  • Intended for niche use cases involving printable disc labels
  • Protection discs are commonly included with disc trays/spindles
  • Designed around Avery-style full-face labels

Quick, simple, and surprisingly effective.
