1:25 scale. Full, RC ready, free model designed and built by me using original plans, an 1:87 scale model by positron96 and paper model scans. Everything save for mast is FDM printed, it is strongly advised to cover the hull with fiberglass or use a lot of filler and sanding. After all, the model is around 3 feet long!
Assembly:
- Print and assemble the hull as shown in picture. Put propshaft_mount down back using the notches as reference.
- Print and assemble the superstructure. If you do not want to make openable doors, merge them with Superstructure_A at this point. The superstructure can be done in two variants: an old version used on the original project 376 and a new simplified one used on the project 376M.
- Print roof and superstructure railings or make them out of 1.2 mm metal wire using printed parts as templates. Do the same with roof access rungs but with thicker wire.
- Print vertical parts for deck railings. Use 1.2 mm metal wire for the horizontal part. Bend and assemble using the pdf template (the template is top-down view!).
- Small parts time! Use pictures for the reference. No tires here, I used ones from a 1/35 model kit.
5.1) Print deflectors and put them on superstructure.
5.2) Print Kazanka tender boat and its benches, grating, stand. Glue the boat onto the superstructure.
5.3) Print the mast and make it removable by gluing only mast A to the superstructure, 2mm metal wire goes inside MastB
5.4) Put grates on the engine room windows.
- Paint
- Use clear sheet plastic (or a plastic bottle) for windows.
- Print the motor mount and install motor, RC and all that stuff.
