Description

This hanger was designed to be durable and easily folded and stored for travel, camping, or home use and then expand to the size of a standard hanger. It has the following attributes:

  • Can support 5 lbs (2.3 kg) or more (see photo).
  • Shaped to hold or hang a variety of personal items
  • 3 1/8 x 5 1/5 x 7/16"" (80 x 130 x 11 mm) folded size
  • Prints on standard 3D printer build plates as small as 170x170mm
  • Requires no hardware or assembly. Just remove supports and flex joints

Filament Recommendations:

I tested the hanger outside on a warm (90F 33C) day, 60+% humidity, in the shade and sun for 24 hours. PLA held the load, but deformed in sunlight. PCTG was too flexible and failed. PETG-CF worked well. ASA, ABS, PA6-GF may also be good choices but were not tested. Start with what is easiest for you to print, such as PLA+ and see how things work! Though 40% infill throughout was used for my tests, The PLA deformation (drooping) could have been compression around the joint under the hook. Creating a 100% infill in this area may be something to try for a PLA print.
