Description
I don't really like what some call 'modular', but I do like sectional and customizable. I'm okay with kits that you have to glue together, Clips or magnets are fine, but I'd rather build the item I want and be done with it. Different concepts for different preferences. I don't want to have to assemble small blocks of terrain before the game for one piece and then have to set up the rest of the table. I look for Multi-use terrain pieces, and if I cannot find them, I try to make them. I'm not a 3d sculptor nor do I have extensive C.A.D. knowledge. Those skills take time and I spent my time on the machining and technical side of learning when I was younger.
Everything else is print and fit. This set/kit is not meant to be an easy assemble fit together easy to create set of building interiors/"space dungeon". It is a quick design for the person who doesn't want 'human looking boxes'. Instead, these are alien looking boxes. :)
They aren't perfect nor are they meant to be. 'Quick' CAD designs for quick terrain. Print away!
If a part won't slice due to a unknown hollow spot, let me know. If you want a specific piece of equipment for an alien ship or installation interior, let me know. It might spark an idea and I might be able to make it. I can only use basic CAD at the moment. I would learn better software but this is not my field. It is just a hobby.
Everything should print flat on the build plate except the Liquid Tanks. 45 degree angle with light supports on the bottom and along the one hex edge that aligns with the build plate. The Mesh Doors I printed straight up with a brim. I tried several different angles but the best print was straight up. The Faux Wall Support Seam-line Cover I turned it on its side and printed them that way. No brim unless you have troubles.
Not everything has been test printed or test fitted. I am working on that still. If I find something wrong I will correct and upload as time permits.
These were designed with FDM printers in mind. You are on your own for resin. They should print fine but that will take quite a lot of resin. Not that I am telling you anything. :)
Corridors A imply smooth straight ends. They will butt up against another smooth straight edge. B implies North and East side with a formed end that will contour to the outside of the end of a room entry or wall. C implies the South and West wide with a formed end that will contour to the outside of the end of a room entry or wall. D implies that both ends are formed ends that will contour to the outside of a room entry or wall, meaning it wall connect a wall to a wall.
Rooms A refers to sections that have no entry. B refers to room sections that have an entry. This may become confusing because some of these when turned 180 will look similar to other room sections. If it looks and fits right, it is fine. When I made these I could tell by looking at them that the floor patterns did not all face the same direction. When painted, I doubt they will look off unless they are faced 90 degrees from another floor pattern. You do you.
Alien faux wall support_seam-line cover is simply a part that will cover the line when two room are butted against each other. It should look like a wall support and give the room a little depth. It is a small part.
This can be used for miniature table top games set in a Dystopian, Modern or Future World. This can be used for RPGs, table top miniatures games, dioramas, or photography scenes. The sky is not a limit.
Can be used for games like Pulp Alley, Reality's Edge, 5 Parsecs From Home, Cyberpunk, Fist Full of Lead, This is Not a Test, Q-Factor, Hi/Lo. Zona Alpha etc.
