Description
By allowing the extruder stepper motor to swivel, the bowden PFTE tube can be drastically shortened.
I started by mounting the extruder outside the case of my Davinci 1.0, but the bowden cable was too long and I was having oozing issues. I tried mounting the stepper inside the case, and I could shorten the bowden cable a little, but I still had to leave extra room so it would not kink while printing. Finally, with this swivel fixture, I was able to significantly reduce the length of the bowden cable.
I drilled a hole in the sheetmetal and used an M5 bolt, two washers, and a nut to hold a 608ZZ bearing in place. This fixture fits on top of the bearing.
