What is X1/P1 SteinWipe?
The SteinWipe system, first announced in November 2024, was initially a nozzle wiper system set out to use the full-size A1 silicone wiper pad driven with some custom Gcode toolpaths. Today, the project is so much more! The SteinWipe hardware can now be paired with SWMC to become a full motion control upgrade for your Bambu Lab P1 Series or X1C printer (A1 Series and P2S officially in the works). While this MakerWorld release provides everything needed to get started with the project - the wiper mount assembly, mounting template, a custom program written for your machine to tune your wiper offsets limiting premature wiper wear, and embedded wiper driver Gcode provided in evolving .3MF presets - it's still just a small glimpse into whatβs possible with the full SteinWipe Motion Control (SWMC) project, which the full experience with on-going development powered by the Leckiestein Patreon and Discord communities remains a Patreon exclusive. However, your boosts on this project help with material and equipment costs for new development! My commitment to you boosting this project is: as more boosts come in, more features will be added to this MakerWorld release from the exclusive Patreon project so make sure you check back for updates as this release evolves!

What is SteinWipe Motion Control (SWMC)?Β
At the heart of SteinWipe is the Patreon Exclusive Dev Pack; a plug-and-play suite of .3MF machine presets leveraging 1,000's of lines of custom written G-code, extensively tested by the Leckiestein community since Dec.2024. Beyond nozzle wiping, the real power comes from SteinSwitch Definitions which are simple toggles you add to your printer notes to enable advanced features and behaviors allowing you greater control for the printing task at hand! Some of these include:

Print the first 3 profiles - the wiper mount offset 0.00mm, the hole template, and the backing plate.
Run the XY position checker program to ensure your wiper install does not need some minor XY offset tweaks to the wiper toolpath. This ensures your wiper gets thousands of wipe cycles before needing to be replaced. File and full offset calibration instructions here on leckiestein.com
Β
To use this MakerWorld version of SteinWipe Gcode, you must first get Bambu Studio ready to drive SteinWipe. Head to the downloads area and click βDownload STL/CAD filesβ then download βGcode and 3MF Presets.zipβ and unzip the file.Β
Β
You can also follow this video here for greater detail.
Note: Using the Bambu Handy app will not use SteinWipe. You may leave the wiper installed and still print MakerWorld projects from the Handy app without problem.Β
Β
The file contains 3MF presets for the X1C and the P1 series printers meaning you can load the SteinWipe Gcode into Bambu Studio with the preset and not have to edit any Gcode.Β
The zip file also contains instructions on how to open and save the 3MF preset to your Bambu account.
If you have the Patreon Dev Pack, you many also use this video here for detailed guidance on creating a full Machine Profile for SteinWipe.Β
Note: After sending a print using this SteinWipe preset, you can repeat the print using the Handy app and the wipe cycles will function.
Β
At this stage, you are ready to send a file to be printed using SteinWipe! In this free MakerWorld release, there are only 2 SteinSwitch Definitions available to drive SteinWipe:

Update June 7.2025
V2 is in the works!! I can't show you guys what V2 looks like just yet but I can tell you from the time the printer receives the download to the time it's laying down filament - 15 Seconds!! An all new rapid prototyping mode will be available which is made possible by SteinWipe Version 2 and SWMC - two completely new additions coming to the project!
Β
Update June 5.2025
I new purge strategy coming to the project. The first version of Purge Sidestepping I released for SteinWipe Motion Control back in Jan.2025 was hit with a huge road block by Bambu Studio that literally blocked it just days after releasing it. This feature still works in SWMC for Orca 2.2.0 without having to do anything funny. Working on a solutions for Orca 2.3 and BBS 2.0+
