Description
In the first Harry Potter movie, Harry visits Gringotts Bank to see his vault. When it opens a fascinating mechanism is shown. Making a replica of the door is way too big of a project, so I made this Mini Vault that demonstrates 2 slices of the 7 slice vault door in the movie.
When the vault is locked, all the knobs are also locked.
This design has a working combination lock that can be programmed to custom combinations.
The process is performed in the reverse order to lock the door.
Note: Building this design is a lot of work and takes commitment.
The combintation for the vault can be customized by the position of the stops inserted into the Lock Rotors.
A video of the vault in operation can be found here.
Refer to the 44 page Gringotts Mini Vault Build Notes PDF file in Documentation below for detailed assembly instructions.

V3 - Dial V2.stl file. Corrected Dial graduations. Now there are 100 gradulations (vs. 60).
Added Dial V2 Up.stl file as default. This file allows the dial to be read from above (vs. below). It simply flips the digits on the dial. The original Dial, which can be used if the Dial is above your line of sight, is still included as an “Outside” part in the 3MF, but must be swapped with the Dial V2 Up part on Plate 5 for printing.
