Monster Piggy Bank – a slightly different kind of coin guardian

This piggy bank in the shape of a monster came from a simple idea: My wife showed me a picture of a cute monster piggy bank and asked, "Could you make something like this for our daughter?" Of course I could – challenge accepted!

The result: a friendly, slightly goofy savings monster with six curious eyes, ready to gobble up coins – or at least guard them fiercely. It's perfect for kids to learn about saving money in a fun and playful way. And let’s be honest: who would dare sneak coins out of a six-eyed monster?

 

The eyes were finished off with classic stick-on googly eyes – gives it real personality! The parts are easy to print and can be easily assembled with a bit of superglue.

The coin slot is on the top, and there’s a screw-on opening on the back as well to empty it – secure and child-friendly.

Printing Tips:

The print consists of two plates. Printing by object is enabled for the 2nd plate to save time and filament. 1st plate is the main body, 2nd plate is the front plate which slides easily into the top of the main body, rests there on the little ridge and has to be glued on with superglue, and the screwable access door for the opening on the backside of the body. 

 

For the 2nd plate, ironing is enabled for most of the parts as well as “Hilbert Curve” as top surface pattern. If you want to save time printing, you can disable these via the “Object” tab, but I'd suggest leaving them enabled for a nice, mirror-like finish and an appealing texture. When you're done printing, just stick some googly eyes on the sockets or paint them on if you like! :)

- Googly eyes (any kind and size you like)
- Superglue (use sparingly on the inner ridge of the body)
