Description
As a bass and pike fisherman I use one-piece rods that are objectively uncomfortable to carry.
I tried several solutions but none of them convinced me. I wanted to avoid carrying the rods outside the car, exposed to the elements and within reach of "curious" hands, but at the same time I wanted it not to hinder driving, with something minimal that was easily removable.
I came up with this solution that allows you to attach the racks to any headrest with a minimum distance of 130 to 140mm for the front seat (95-100 for the rear). However, an STL file is available for any adaptation.
There is enough space for rods with or without a sock, held in place by an elastic band.
If you want, as I did, you can add foam sheets to protect the contact points.
The spring used is the one from the Maker's Beginner Kit (25x5x0.5mm).
NOTE: I highly recommend using at least PETG to make it heat resistant
Spoiler: there are quite a few supports, so be prepared ;)
