The MiG-29UB is a two-seat trainer/light attack variant of the single-seat MiG-29A fighter, designed for conversion training, and sacrificing some combat capabilities. While the NO-193 RADAR was removed, it retained the IRST, laser rangefinder, and under-wing hard-points for limited combat capability. All operators of the MiG-29 have this two-seater in their inventory, and upgrades like the MiG-29UBT have been marketed. India's MiG-29K naval variant and the MiG-35 development are also based on the MiG-29UB. Some have been imported to the United States for evaluation and by private collectors. In 1996, a Cuban MiG-29UB shot down two Cessna 337s. (airfighters.com)
