Description

This is a bladed swimbait designed from scratch in 3D using Fusion 360. The project includes several test versions; even the final one still has some swimming and balancing issues. I've decided to share it publicly on Maker World in the hope that someone can help me fix it or improve the design.

Assembly is simple: all you need is 0.7 mm steel wire (or similar), lead weights, and superglue to hold the parts together. If you're passionate about fishing, 3D modeling, or prototyping, any suggestions or remixes are welcome!

🔧 Assembly Instructions

Assembling the swimbait is simple:

  1. Create 5 small wire loops using 0.7 mm steel wire (or similar):
    • 2 for the joint connections between segments
    • 3 for attaching the treble hooks and the snap/swivel
  2. Glue the wire loops into the designated holes using strong superglue.
  3. Insert the lead weights into the weight cavities, then secure them with superglue.
  4. Attach the tail to the second body segment.
  5. Glue the diving lip to the front of the first segment.
  6. Connect the segments using a slightly thicker piece of steel wire — or possibly a small screw (to be tested).
  7. (Optional) Once assembled, you can coat the lure with UV resin for extra durability and a smoother finish. Cure it with a UV light.

🖨️ 3D Printing Tips

  • Infill: 0% (hollow body recommended for proper weighting and buoyancy)
  • Orientation: Print all body parts vertically for best detail and strength

🐟 Optional Extra Tail Segment

If you want to use the optional extra tail segment, keep in mind that its joint is different from the others.
To assemble it correctly, you’ll need to create two wire loops linked together, forming a single flexible connection — since this joint has only one pivot point instead of two.
