POTA Performer Radial Reels

Update: the STL file was missing the handle for the winder.  The file has been updated to include it.

Update 2: the 40m winder did not have both sides.  This has been corrected.  (Error happened when adding all the STL's into a single print profile.

 

Here are two different size radial winders for the POTA Performer.

 

The smaller one is for dedicated 40m radials.  The larger one is for the standard 6-20m radials.  They have sufficient space to have the wire labels I have as another model.

 

I've printed in both PLA and PETG.  I used “extra draft” because I didn't care about appearance.  When printing, print the washer and knob with a brim.

 

While the parts are all a “snug fit”, I recommend a couple small dots of super-glue to hold the reel and inside handle together.  It also uses a 4mm bolt to attach the handle to the reel.  FreeCAD doesn't do a great job with the size of the hole, it is easiest if you use a 4mm die to clean it out first.

 

The design features a hole for a wire with a female spade connected for allow attaching the wire before spooling it.
