Description
Bismarck and Tirpitz 1:520 scale model
The Bismarck class (KMS Bismarck and KMS Tirpitz) were the largest battleships ever built by Germany. Commissioned during World War II, they combined heavy armor protection with powerful 15-inch guns. Bismarck became famous for her dramatic sortie and sinking in 1941, while Tirpitz spent most of the war stationed in Norway, posing a constant threat to Allied convoys until her destruction in 1944. This model set includes both ships, capturing their distinctive appearance and configuration. The main differences between the two models are the rear half of the superstructure and the inclusion of torpedo tubes on the Tirpitz.
This model features rotating main and secondary battery turrets with changeable gun elevation. The assembly is fairly straightforward, and a guide is available as an attached document. A separate print profile is available for printing on an A1 mini, as well as a print profile with embedded pauses at layer height to achieve a multicolor look without an AMS. (Because adding pauses at layer heights isn't a significant enough change to have a separate print profile, according to the current guidelines, I have added it to the CAD data of the model. To access it, press the drop-down menu below the print profiles and select "Download STL/CAD Files." The file name is “ Pause at layer heights” )
