Description
This is a fully 3d-printed and functional 150 mm electric ducted fan, also known as an EDF, to power any of your RC vehicles. Simply print the parts and assemble with your RC electronics to unleash an enormous amount of thrust! (works as a hairdryer too).
Required to assemble:
Assembly guide:
Print all parts and remove the supports from the duct. Make sure all surfaces are smooth (a slight sanding of some areas can be good).
If your motor is outboard-running, a slight modification must first be made to convert it into an inboard (ignore this section otherwise). To do this, first loosen the top grub screws and remove the bottom c-clip.
Next, gently pull apart the two halves and lightly hammer in the motor shaft so that it becomes flush with the top of the rotor.
Reassemble the motor and tighten the grub screws. Your motor is now ready to be mounted.
Pre-install all 4 M3x8 screws into their mounting holes from the top.
Position the motor from the back to align its mounting holes with the screws. Tighten until secure.
Place the prop adapter on the motor shaft. Make sure it doesn't rub on the mount.
Place the fan in the adapter (make sure it is build-plate-side down) and tighten the adapter nut until secure.
Connect to your RC electronics and let rip!
