Description
I wanted to print ASA in my enclosed P1S and get the smell outside without leaving the garage door halfway open, so I designed this low-profile garage door exhaust vent.
The vent sits on the floor at the bottom of your garage door. When you close the door, the thin ramps slide under the seal while the main body stays inside the garage, pulling air out through a 4" round outlet. You’ll need your own blower and hose:
The model prints in 4 pieces:
The outlet is 4" OD to match standard 4" flex duct. The exhaust doesn’t need to be on full blast; just enough airflow to pull the stinky stuff outside.
I printed mine in Sunlu PLA 2.0, and it has held up fine with the garage door closing on it. If your climate gets very hot or your door seal is extra tight, PETG or ASA would be even safer long-term.
This was one of my first Fusion 360 designs from last year. Feedback, print photos, and remix ideas are all appreciated.
Important: This is intended for venting 3D-printer fumes (ASA, ABS, resin, etc.). Don’t rely on it for anything involving combustion gases (cars, heaters, etc.). Always check your door clearance the first time you close it and make sure nothing binds.
UPDATE 5/27/2026: I apologize to anyone who downloaded this model prior to today. There was an issue with fitment that prevented the two pieces from connected. This issue has been resolved and the only print profile available is now the fixed one.
